Warning! Sephora Fees! (Oh and a Sephora Haul)

Hi Guys!

So I’ve had my eye on a few awesome looking products lately and decided to purchase a couple of bits from Sephora as a treat for my birthday. I’m really happy with what I got, but not so happy about the price…

  • Anastasia Beverley Hills Contour Kit – $40
  • Tarte Discover The amazon 3 Piece Kit – $34.50
  • Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Melted Violet – $21
  • Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Melted Coral – $21
  • Makeup Forever Happy Birthday Mini Kit – Free
  • Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Deep Matte Bronzer mini – Free
  • Caudiale Premier Cru The Cream sample – Free
  • Vita Liberata pHenomenal 2-3 Week Tan Lotion sample – Free

Order total – £73.44

Shipping and Handling – £16.38

Taxes and Duties – £16.26

Total – £106.06

Now I’ve put all the prices on here for you because I want to make a point. I was so happy when I saw the The Too faced Melted Lipsticks at Sephora for the equivalent of £12.32, as they’re £19 in the UK. I felt like I was getting a great deal. Most things are cheaper in the US compared to the UK so I was a happy bunny! I understood there would be shipping and handling fees, but I didn’t realise there was also a taxes and duties charge until it was too late. I think I got a bit mixed up because it was a very similar price to the shipping, so I think I thought it was the same thing, if that makes sense! In the end my order came to over £100, with over £30 of it spent on fees, boo hoo! What’s done is done, and I am really happy with what I got, I just wanted to point this out as a warning when purchasing from Sephora, just beware and keep an eye on the charges!

I’ll be reviewing everything in the coming weeks!

I hope this post was helpful! xx

(Update – so apparently I’m a complete twit, I’ve just been told if I’d have spent £75 on my order, then my shipping would have only been £6! Oh well at least I know now!)

I once bought a dress from Hot Topic and then got a letter saying it would cost another £30 in taxes and to go and pay to collect it. I let them return to sender and got a refund but that took 6 weeks. The dress was only $25!

I’m hoping I could ask some of my friends abroad to send me over some things to avoid all these crazy fees! The Anastasia contour palette looks lovely, so do the Too faced lip glosses 🙂

Eeep £30 in fees! I’m put off ordering from Sephora for that reason, it seems too complicated!
