Dior’s AW16 Skyline collection really is to die for – I posted a couple of days ago about the new Mono Eyeshadows, and I have a few more products from the collection to share with you today…
To the Parisian “SKYLINE” Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup, gazed when seeking enlightenment for the AW16 collection. Like an architect for the face, this new makeup wardrobe explores shape, line and structure through the transformative nuances of shade, light and extraordinary optical illusions. From frosted beige to reddened browns, coppery pinks and glinting metallics, autumnal hues find order in state-of-the-art formulations that redefine beauty for the modern woman.
Let’s start by looking at the stunning Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer Powder in 001 (£39.00) – this is just the most gorgeous powder – please tell me I’m not the only one that doesnt actually want to use pretty products, because I don’t want to ‘ruin’ them?? Well I have used this and I don’t think I’ll be putting it down all summer! It’s the most wonderful champagne beige illuminating powder, perfect for highlighting both face and body – this is a must have for highlighter fans!
Next I have the Diorshow Brow Chalk in 002 Soft Brown (£20.00) – now I’m the first to admit that I’m no expert at brows, so I’m always looking for a fool-proof product that I can apply quickly and easily, that just does the job without any fuss. The Diorshow Brow Chalk is a chunky brow pencil that combines the colour intensity of a pencil with the staying power of a wax. It fills and sculpts brows with ease – you can use the flat end of the product to cover a larger area, or use it on its edge to draw fine lines. This is available in three shades – 001 Blonde, 002 Soft Brown, and 003 Dark Brown.
I also have one of the Dior Addict Lipsticks (£26.50) from the collection – shade 777 Sensational is an intensely pigmented beautiful shimmery magenta pink. There are also two more lipstick shades in the Skyline collection – 951 Too Much, a bright red, and 927 Sophisticated, a deep brown.
And the Skyline collection of nail polishes are just gorgeous. Dior Vernis (£19.50) in shade 848 Skyline is a wonderful warm reddish toned chocolate brown. These shades are inspired by the Parisian horizon on an autumn day, and as expected the rest of the shades on the collection are all nudes, including 112 Minimal, a marble beige, 522 Abstract, a stony taupe, and 818 Obscure, a dusky brown.
And lastly I have a couple of the Fix-It Colour Sticks (£23.50) – you’ll probably have noticed that colour correcting is one of the latest beauty trends, and Dior have included four lipstick-sized colour correcting sticks in this collection, to help you neutralise any colour issues you might be having –
Dior’s Fix-It Colour contains soft-focus agents to blur away imperfections, refine the skin’s surface texture and banish dullness.
- 200 Apricot: warms dull skin, reducing dark spots, hyperpigmentation and shadowy circles. Perfect for olive skin tones.
- 300 Yellow: smoothes away purple under eye shadows and visible blood vessels – then revives blue-toned lips that can alter the colour of lipstick. Ideal for pale skin.
- 100 Blue: delivers targeted contouring, then evens out and energizes dull, yellow skin to renew its integral radiance.
- 400 Green: neutralizes redness caused by heat, blemishes and spider veins.
There are also plenty more gorgeous products in this collection which I’d definitely advise you check out! There’s beautiful eyeshadow palettes, highlight and contour sticks, lip glosses and illuminating pens – get your wish-lists at the ready!
The Dior Skyline collection is available now at John Lewis.
