A classic that has lost none of its impact.” François Demachy, Dior Perfumer-CreatorI have quite a few miniatures from the Maision Christian Dior fragrance line which are truly lovely, and I’m a real sucker for any juicy fruity scents, so when I happened to spot Rouge Trafalgar had been released on the Dior site, I thought it sounded right up my street, and treated my self to a bottle immediately!

Rouge Trafalgar is a floral fruity chypre scent, and though it’s tagged as a feminine release, I’d say it’s definitely unisex though slightly leaning towards feminine – and it’s a real fruit bomb!

The fragrance opens with a vibrant fruit cocktail of juicy red berry notes, slightly on the tart side, and what I would call ‘grown up’ refined sweet rather than sickly sweet. Personally I was hoping for a bit more cherry here, just because I love cherry notes, but I’m not in any way disappointed. The heart of grapefruit and blackcurrant balances out the intensity of top notes nicely, and the base of Patchouli and Musk leave you with a lovely light musky dry down.

I feel this is quite unlike the other Maison Dior fragrances I have – this is a wonderfully sweet, fresh, and mouth-wateringly juicy scent, and definitely worth a try if you ask me!
