Five Fragrance Gift Ideas for Father’s Day
19 June, 2020
How is it almost Father’s Day! It’s really crept up this year, and I’ve put together a little last minute gift guide in case you were still on the hunt for some lovely treats – enjoy!
Let’s kick things off with Kierin Santal Sky EDP. This is the second Kierin fragrance I’ve experienced, and it would make a wonderful Father’s Day gift –
‘Santal Sky is an amazing, thoughtful scent with a touch of irreverence. Woody, intimate and serene, and bound with earthy vibrancy, it refreshes the soul and embodies a calm heart in the fast beat of city streets.’
Santal Sky is a beautiful woody-spicy fragrance, with an exotic blend of cardamon, saffron, sandalwood and vetiver. It’s a laid back, serene scent, with a modern, clean vibe, yet it’s still sophisticated and elegant. Santal Sky is a relaxed walk on a fresh summer’s day, it’s easy to wear and suitable for all ages. If you like sandalwood, this is definitely one for you – and it leaves the wearer with a gorgeous warm creamy dry down that lasts for hours.
Next we have Carolina Herrera Bad Boy EDT. Who wants to be good when you can be a bad boy? (Sorry I couldn’t resist) This striking lightning bolt fragrance is Carolina Herrera’s latest male scent launch, paired with the female ‘Good Girl’ line. Bad Boy Eau de Toilette is definitely a head turner – he’s youthful, handsome and confident.
‘Carolina Herrera starts a new adventure with Bad Boy, a fascinating fragrance that redefines masculinity. He expresses heroism and strength. Bad Boy seduces and captivates as fast and precise as a lighting.’
Bad Boy opens with spicy notes of pink and white pepper blended with vibrant green bergamot. There’s a mixture of light and dark facets at work here, both hot and cold, the duality representing the nature of the modern man – both strong and sensitive, confident and relaxed. The heart of cedar wood and sage contrasts perfectly with the warm addictive notes of creamy tonka bean and cocoa at the base. I think this is a great all-rounder fragrance, there’s not much to dislike here!
- Top Notes: Pink Pepper, White Pepper and Bergamot.
- Heart Notes: Cedarwood and Sage.
- Base Notes: Tonka Bean and Cocoa.
Next I have Banana Republic Neroli Woods EDP. Inspired by childhood memories of holidays in the South of France, Neroli Woods was inspired by carefree days at the beach – and delicious yoghurt cakes! This citrus fresh scent opens with an intense hit of neroli, with notes of mandarin and coconut water (I must admit I didn’t detect any coconut here) The floral heart then leads to a woody base of amber, sandalwood and cedar. Neroli Woods is a sweet, feel-good summer fragrance – and I should note this isn’t a typical masculine scent, it’s very unisex, perfect for warm summer days if you ask me.
(This is originally £55.00 for 75ml, and is currently on offer for £25.00 at Superdrug!)
- Top notes: Mandarin Leaves, Neroli, Coconut Water
- Heart notes: Peony, Orange Flower, Solar Frangipani
- Base notes: Ebony Woods, Amber, Sandalwood, Cedar
Tom Ford Noir Extreme EDP is up next. This is truly a stunning scent, and perfect for those wanting to make a statement. An enhanced version of the signature Tom Ford Noir Spray, Noir Extreme EDP is a bold and sophisticated woody oriental fragrance – sweet, gourmand and tempting, quite the opposite type of sweet to Banana Republic’s Neroli Woods – this is a deep scent, for colder days, date nights and special occasions.
Noir Extreme opens with a blast of cardamon, nutmeg and saffron, and very subtle notes of mandarin and neroli. The florals at the heart are spot on – rose, jasmine, orange flower and Kulfi add a sweet fruitiness. The dry down leaves the wearer with a seductively gourmand amber, sandalwood and vanilla trail. Noir Extreme is a fantastic option for someone interested in the Private Blend line (specifically Noir de Noir), but without the hefty price tag.
- Top Notes: Mandarin Oil, Neroli Oil, North Africa Orpur, Saffron, Cardamom & Nutmeg
- Heart Notes: Indian Kulfi, Rose Absolute, Jasmine Accord & Orange Flower
- Base Notes: Amber, Sandalwood & Vanilla
And lastly Versace Eros EDT. Inspired by Eros, the god of love from ancient Greek mythology, Versace Eros EDT is an intensely refreshing and luminous, yet sensual fragrance.
Versace Eros opens with a citrus cocktail of cool mint, lemon zest and crisp apple peel. The heart of tonka bean and ambroxan creates an intense oriental signature, and Madagascan vanilla works perfectly to give a hint of warm creaminess, while green notes in the form of oakmoss and cedarwood contrast and round off the sensual base. This is another great all-rounder scent, and will appeal to many tastes and ages.
- Top Notes: Mint Oil, Italian Lemon Zest and Green Apple.
- Heart Notes: Tonka Bean, Ambroxan and Geranium Flower.
- Base Notes: Madagascan Vanilla, Oak Moss and Cedarwood.
