Valentino Born in Roma Pink PP: The Fragrance Everyone is Talking About
11 September, 2023
Valentino have just launched Born in Roma Pink PP, their latest limited edition flanker to the popular Born in Roma line.
Their new Rendez-Vous collection includes Born in Roma Pink PP as part of a his and hers fragrance duo. The feminine fragrance Born in Roma Pink PP is paired with its masculine counterpart, Rockstud Noir. Both scents are housed in Valentino’s classic ‘Rockstud’ studded texture bottles, with a matte finish and monochromatic colour theme – Pink PP of course in hot pink, and Rockstud noir in intense black.
There’s been a lot of talk around this launch over the last few weeks. Fans across the world were distraught to find out it was (apparently) a UK only launch – I even had some people contact me asking if I could manage to send one to them, but shipping fragrances from the UK to the US is notoriously tricky. Luckily, Valentino have just launched these fragrances worldwide, so I would advise fans to snap these up quickly as they are limited edition!
Valentino really knows how to create a buzz around a product – with the Rendez-Vous fragrance collection they offered the scents as limited editions, in a limited location (apparently), with a ‘curious’ name, as well as the striking hot pink packaging following Barbie mania a few months ago. Valentino ticked all the boxes when it comes to creating hype!
I should also address the name for anyone that’s wondering – Pink PP is the name of Versace’s famous trademarked pink shade, which is in fact named after their creative Director, Pierpaolo Piccioli. Valentino have a whole monochromatic fashion collection in just the Pink PP shade too. Valentino is of course an Italian brand, so whether they knew the name would cause a stir and went with it intentionally, or not, either way people have been very interested in this launch!
Let’s take a look at the fragrance itself. Valentino Born in Roma Pink PP is based on notes of orange blossom and vanilla.
‘Born in Roma Pink PP is a dazzling floral-ambery fragrance that brings the vibrance alive on your skin. A magnetic note that blends vibrant Madagascar Bourbon vanilla and magnificent orange blossom accords.’
- Top Notes: Bright and sweet, Calabrian green mandarine sparkles with a fresh lively take-off.
- Heart Notes: The heart of this dazzling floral note is built around orange blossom accords, revealing both sweet and fresh facets like a delightful bouquet.
- Base Notes: The warm and woody aroma brought by Madagascar Bourbon vanilla amplifies the magnetism of this sensual fragrance.
Born in Roma Pink PP opens with sweet and sparkling green mandarin, and very soon the heart of orange blossom accord takes centre stage – this is the most noticeable note in the fragrance by far. The base is warm, sweet and slightly woody with Madagascar Bourbon vanilla.Â
I can’t decide if I prefer this over the original Donna Born in Roma. They both have similarities, but are quite different scents. Born in Roma Pink PP is very much an orange blossom based fragrance though, which I really enjoy.
Overall, Born in Roma Pink PP is an excellent designer fragrance, it’s an all-rounder, a crowd pleaser. I think most people will enjoy this fragrance. It’s not ground-breaking in any way but it’s a lovely easy-to-wear scent, and a must have for fans of the brand and collectors of the Born in Roma range.
