So I just happened to be browsing the Selfridges site the other day, lusting after all the gorgeous things that I can’t afford, and I happened to notice there seems to be a bit of a trend for novelty / comedy clutch bags at the moment. I remember the big hoo-ha about Moschino’s MacDonalds themed collection – would you want to sport the famous arches on your designer bag? Personally I wouldn’t, but each to their own. Anyway, Selfridges seemed to have quite a few fun and quirky clutches going on, Charlotte Olympia, the queen of quirky herself had a few fun styles to complement her awesome shoes. I LOVE the Eye Want You clutch. And Anya Hindmarch has a definite snacks based theme going on with her clutches – anyone for a ginger nut??

I’m afraid all these bags will set you back a small fortune, each, not for all of them. Unfortunately I can’t afford a clutch that costs more than a month’s rent, but I’m hoping the high street will catch up soon with their own nifty novelty offerings. I have checked out the usual suspects such as ASOS, Topshop and River Island, but the best I could find was an orange or lemon slice shaped clutch from New Look, as cool as this is it doesn’t compare to a tube of Rich Tea hanging off your arm!
