Today I have the latest instalment from Makeup Revolution to share with you – the Give Them Nightmares Palette. This is a halloween themed eyeshadow palette from the Salvaltion eyeshadow palette range. It includes 18 shadows with matte and shimmer finishes.
The Give Them Nightmares palette has a clear Halloween theme, it’s been released at just the right time when people are starting to think about the holiday (I know it’s not actually a holiday but you know what I mean!), what they might wear and which makeup they might need. Apart from the fact that you don’t really get makeup brands releasing products for a Halloween theme, it’s not very often you come across a palette that includes so many dark shades either, so I think this palette is actually really unique!
The shades are all black, purple, blue and green based. With names such as Pretty Zombie, Bump in the Night and Elm St, this palette is fun as well as functional! The top two rows have satin and shimmer finishes, and the bottom row of circular shadows are all mattes.
I love that they’ve included a couple of ‘pops of colour’ in here (sorry, blogger cliche phrase!) the top shimmer purple in Pretty Zombie has an amazing iridescent shimmer to it which I love!
So here is the top row – the three blueish shades are pretty similar, though there are slight differences. The shades Who’s There? which is a muted burgundy, and Lethal, a bright green, both have a gorgeous high shimmer finish and apart from being lovely shades, they are fabulous to use and wear.
The second row has some more gorgeous shades, I especially like I Am Watching You (third from the left) which is a beautiful deep purple with a high shimmer finish. And Friday 13th is the deepest blackest black you could ever need.
And lastly the third row, these all have matte finishes which are notoriously less impressive than the shimmers, but I have to say that there were only two shadows here which didn’t come out too well, this was White Noise and Depravity (white and purple). Overall I’m really impressed with this palette, you have enough shadows here to create a multitude of halloween, or even every day looks if you’re into darker colours. It’s also only £6 too so you can’t really go wrong with that!
So what do you think? Are you a fan of Makeup revolution palettes?
