Hello friends! I hope you’re doing well in these very strange times? I’m trying to keep things running as normal as best I can at the moment, and I’ve started trying out a few products from Ilapothecary at Bath & Unwind, which I wanted to share with you today.
If you’re not familiar with Ilapothecary, they’re an up and coming British brand offering a selection of products to uplift, nurture and balance mind, body, skin and soul, as well as helping to calm the nervous system, strengthen, hydrate and heal – which is just what I need right now!
Ilapothecary products offer a cutting-edge combination of herbology, naturopathy and homeopathy, and they are are infused with powerful remedial ingredients, designed to counteract urban stressors, environmental and digital pollution, mental stress, hormonal imbalance and body fatigue.
Their formulations are 100% natural and include a blend of healing plants, such as Borage and Thyme, and medicinal flowers such as Rose Geranium, as well as powerful gemstones, live stem cells, silk, vitamins, aromatherapy oils and homeopathic ingredients.
Ilapothecary advises that what we put on our skin directly nourishes and calms our heart – the centre of emotional wellbeing, energy and vitality. Many of our emotions are generated by what we smell, therefore scent is an important factor in their products too, with base notes of Rose Geranium, Blue Chamomile and wild grown Green Vetiver, everything is designed to smell uplifting and clearing.
Ilapothecary also uses numerical symbolism withe their products – for example, number 27 beats the blues, and 55 helps you let go, which is really interesting. And all their products are cruelty free and free from mineral oil, silicone, propylene glycol, ethanolamine, parabens and SLES.
Let’s start with the Silk Eye Serum (£39.00) This is Remedy No.7, symbolising the seed of life, and representing security, safety and rest.
The Express Lip Balm (£15.00) is also lovely. This is remedy No.0, which is the number of the universe itself and represents self expression.
And lastly the Magnesium & Amethyst Deep Bath Soak (£45.00) This is remedy No.28 – 28 is a number for being receptive, partnerships and wealth. Now I must admit this is the product I was most excited about. I absolutely love having a bath, and though I usually go for bubbles, this bath soak sounded right up my street.
The Magnesium & Amethyst Deep Bath Soak is designed to relax muscles, ease nervous tension and help promote deep sleep. Magnesium and mineral rich salts are blended with reparative and relaxing oils and gems, including Amber, Juniper Berry, Benzoin, Petitgrain and Amethyst, to create a peaceful bath soak that promises to leave you feeling boosted and calm. Amethyst is believed to relax the nerves and help heal your aura, and Benzoin is perfect for helping to calm the mind.
As a range, Ilapothecary’s products are designed to smell calming and uplifting, and this bath soak literally smells like relaxation in a bottle. It gave me the most wonderfully luxurious, aromatic bath, and though it’s expensive, it’s definitely worth the money if you love taking long relaxing baths like I do.
I’m really impressed with the Ilapothecary products I’ve tried out so far, they’re well thought out, effective, and I love the values and ethos of the brand. You can find more of their range available at Bath and Unwind now.
