Three Luxury Fragrances You Need To Try
21 August, 2023
Happy Monday friends!
Today I have gathered together three beautiful luxury fragrances that I just can’t get enough of.
If you love vanilla, sandalwood and gourmand scents, this one’s for you…
Atelier Versace Santal Boisé
My first thought when trying this was – wow, this is truly a beautiful fragrance!
Santal Bois launched in 2019 as part of Versace’s luxury fragrance line, Atelier Versace.
This line really is just stunning. The attention to detail on the bottles is spectacular – I love the twisted shape of the bottle, and of course Versace’s medusa head logo in relief on the lid.
Santal Boisé was created using the roots and heart of Sri Lankan Sandalwood, and Cypriol, a delicate, flowering herb. The result is the most beautiful, smooth, creamy sandalwood scent, with an almost vanilla-like dry down. Santal Boisé really is a beautiful fragrance, it’s milky, woody and elegant. It’s intense enough to be noticeable, whilst having a delicacy that has to be experienced to be understood. This scent perfectly unisex, and it offers decent projection and longevity. I can’t get enough of it!
- Notes: Sandalwood, Cypriol, Gurjun and Saffron
If you’re a fan of vanilla fragrances, you need to get your nose on Fire at Will!
Fire at Will is the prettiest vanilla and mimosa scent. This is top notch vanilla, elevated. Imagine high quality vanilla mixed with sweet, powdery mimosa, there’s also a layer of caramelised brown sugar, and beautiful warm amber at the base – gorgeous!
‘In the beginning there’s vanilla, of course, but it’s an unexpected vanilla —subtle, ethereal, as if suspended, with a unique note of honeyed, powdery mimosa. Next comes a vanilla that’s gourmand but not heady, fruity but not baked, poised between a “real” vanilla ice cream and sweet promises that echo like languorous kisses. An unambiguous fragrance trail, conceived like a beckon, arousing the appetite, and casting a spotlight on whoever wears it. Whether your personality is discreet or, to the contrary, completely intense, this perfume is made for those who wish never to go unnoticed again.’ – Vanina Murraciole, Perfumer.
- Top Notes: Vanilla & Mimosa
- Heart Notes: Brown Sugar & Vanilla
- Base Notes: Musk, Vetiver & Amber

Dries Van Noten Soie Malaquais
And lastly one of my absolute favourite fragrances, Dries Van Noten Soie Malaquais.
This is the most beautiful, warming, gourmand scent. Soie Malaquais is a wonderfully smooth and silky fragrance with notes of bergamot, jammy rose, creamy toasted chestnuts, warm vanilla, and a dusting of cocoa. This is a fantastic fragrance for the coming cooler weather – Soie Malaquais is a scent that makes me think of Autumn. It has beautifully cosy quality, that’s intense and intoxicating, without being over the top. You can read my full review of Soie Malaquais at I Fragrance.
- Top Notes: Bergamot & Blackcurrant
- Heart Notes: Rose & Silk
- Base Notes: Chestnut & Cocoa
