Fragrance: The Amazing Nina Ricci Limited Edition Les Monsters Fragrance Collection

Posted on April 26, 2018

Hi Guys!

Ok so these are probably the most awesome and quirky perfume bottles I’ve ever seen! I love anything fun, kitch and a bit off-beat – and Nina Ricci’s latest limited edition Les Monsters fragrances literally tick all these boxes for me!

For SS18 Nina Ricci has teamed up with Brazilian artist duo Ana Strumpf and Guto Requena to transform the label’s iconic apple bottle into the most irresistible and cute little monsters. The limited edition Nina and Luna fragrances are also finished with a fun coloured pompom which can be re-used in any way you wish – I’m thinking maybe an oversized hair bobble (if that’s your kind of thing) or maybe you could add a clip and turn them into fluffy bag charms? Either way I think this playful touch is the perfect addition to these cute little cartoon monsters. Now let’s take a look at the fragrances –

Joyful, carefree and courageous, Nina Ricci Nina Monsters EDT is a citrus fruity-floral scent with cotton candy facets. The Nina Monsters bottle is bright fiery orange, and looks quite like a sweet little owl!

The fragrance opens with notes of of sparkling pear intertwined with blackcurrant. Cotton candy provides a second dose of deliciousness at the heart, before romantic freshness follows thanks to a sprinkle of peony petals. Tonka bean and ambery notes round out the fragrance with smoothness at the base, creating a signature that is sensuous and bright.

  • Top Notes: Pear, Blackcurrant
  • Heart Notes: Cotton Candy, Peony
  • Base Notes: Ambery Notes, Tonka Bean

Next we have Luna, described as Nina’s alter ego – intense, bewitching, mysterious and captivating. This little monster looks almost cat-like, with big almond eyes and whiskers, and a bright blue pompom.

Nina Ricci Luna Monsters EDT is a delicious gourmand perfume with juicy pineapple facets infused with lime. The fragrance opens with with bright top notes of juicy pear and tonic lime, leading to a delicately feminine floral heart of freesia and orange blossom. The base is rounded off beautifully with rich, delectable notes of caramel and blond woods creating a signature that’s good enough to eat.

  • Top Notes: Pineapple, Tonic Lime
  • Heart Notes: Freesia, Orange Blossom
  • Base Notes: Caramel, Blond Woods

You can probably tell that I absolutely love these bottles! The fragrances are also lovely, and very wearable. The Nina Ricci Les Monsters Limited Edition Fragrances are available now at Debenhams and FeelUnique.

Fragrance: Paco Rabanne Monopoly Collectors Editions For Him & Her

Posted on May 26, 2017

Hi Guys, Happy Friday!

If you’re familiar with Paco Rabanne’s cult fragrance Lady Million, you’ll know it’s one of those classic scents that you can just go back to time and time again. Paco Rabanne has recently teamed up with everyone’s favourite board game, Monopoly, to bring you limited edition collectors bottles of both Lady Million and 1 Million for him, inspired by the iconic game.

I know your first thought might be ‘Why Monopoly?’ – on the face of it, it does appear slightly an odd pairing – a fragrance brand with a board game? But you may remember the iconic advertising campaign for 1 Million a few years ago, featuring a slick looking guy clicking his fingers in time to music with clips of luxurious items appearing to fall at his feet. The ad starts with a pair of dice thrown on to a table; there’s also a sports car, a holdall of cash – you get the idea. When you look at it like this, I think Monopoly ties in perfectly with the 1 Million and Lady Million branding.

I should point out that both flankers hold the original Lady Million and 1 Million fragrances, so it’s just the containers and outer packaging that’s limited edition. In case you’re not familiar with these fabulous scents, I’ll give you a bit of an overview –

Lady Million EDP is a fresh, woody floral fragrance, that’s undeniably both glamorous and sexy, designed to make any woman feel a million dollars.

The fragrance is inspired by wealth, power and gold, featuring top notes of Raspberry, Amalfi Lemon and Neroli, leading to a heart of Gardenia, African Orange Flower and Jasmine and a base of White Honey Patchouli and Amber. The result is fresh and playful fragrance, making Paco Rabanne Lady Million a tempting and seductive scent.

  • Top Notes: Raspberry, Amalfi Lemon and Neroli.
  • Heart Notes: Gardenia, African Orange Flower and Jasmine.
  • Base Notes: White Honey Patchouli and Amber.

Lady Million EDP Monopoly Collectors Edition is £75.00 for 80ml.

And 1 Million for men is a fresh and spicy fragrance with notes of Mandarin, Cinnamon and Leather. This fragrance is extravagant, confident, bold and daring.

Paco Rabanne 1 Million EDT is an iconic male fragrance representing the power, luxury and wealth of the modern man. 1 Million opens with top notes of Grapefruit, Mint and Blood Mandarin, with warming Cinnamon, Rose and Spice at the heart, and Leather, Amber and Patchouli to round off the base.

  • Top Notes: Grapefruit, Mint and Blood Mandarin.
  • Heart Notes: Cinnamon, Rose and Spice.
  • Base Notes: Leather, Amber and Patchouli.

1 Million for Men Monopoly Collectors Edition is £64.50 for 100ml

Paco Rabanne’s Lady Million and 1 Million limited edition collectors Monopoly fragrances are available now at Debenhams (which currently has 10% off)

There are also six single eyeshadows in the collection. I have Bowlarama which is an intense lime green with a satin finish. Now I know this shade does look a bit out there, but you can easily sheer it out for a hint of colour, or of course wear it applied layered up if you’re feeling daring!

mac-PEARLMATTE-FACE-POWDER-in-trophy

mac-PEARLMATTE-FACE-POWDER-trophy-swatch

The Pearlmatte Face Powder (£24.00) has to be my favourite product though. Trophy has a fun skittles and bowling ball design, and this powder really does give the most beautiful sheen to the skin. Trophy contains four pearlmatte shades (top to bottom swatches above)  – a light lime green, a bright white, and a mid pink, which when swirled together, give a lovely light pink toned pearlmatte finish (bottom swatch)

There are also a few more products in the collection which I haven’t had the chance to try –

Fluidline Pen (£18.00)

Spanning half a century, Star Trek and its loyal fans cross generations, influencing ideas and aesthetics of gender, race and intergalactic potential. As the sci-fi saga continues, delight in the beauty of exploration as M·A·C and Star Trek’s latest cinema generation join forces in an exclusive makeup collaboration of cosmically charged hues.

MAC-Cosmetics-Star-Trek-Collection

“Star Trek is an iconic pop culture phenomenon whose storylines pushed gender and racial boundaries,” MAC creative director James Gager said in a statement. “For its 50th anniversary, we celebrate each of Star Trek’s powerful women in a transcending, transformational makeup collection.”

The collection contains a massive range of 25 products, inspired by Star Trek’s Deanna Troi, Uhura, Seven of Nine and the Orion Girl, Vina. It includes Lip Glasses and Lipsticks, eyeshadows, nail polishes and brushes to name but a few items. Let’s take a look at some of the products –

mac-star-trek-strange-new-worlds-powder-swatch

  • Strange New Worlds – sheer wash of golden coral pearl

mac-star-trek-swatches

The Lipsticks (£17.00) come in four different shades, with frost and lustre finishes for a real sci-fi look! I have Kling-It-On, a sheer purple frost with a fine pink glitter – it’s a really unusual shade that I was initially quite unsure of, but I actually think it looks great on.

  • Where No Man Has Gone Before – pink with gold pearl (lustre)
  • Kling-It-On deep purple with fine pink glitter (frost)
  • Llap – icy rose champagne (frost)

There are also five Lipglasses (£16.50) in the collection – I have shade Set to Stun, which is a futuristic silver pearl shade, which looks great on its own, and also works well over darker lipstick shades.

  • Pleasure Planet – muted gold shimmer
  • Khaaannnn! – berry with red reflect
  • Set to Stun – light silver with gold pearl
  • Warp Speed Ahead – plum with blue and pink reflects

And I also have one of the Superslick Liquid Eyeliner’s (£17.50) – Now I’m personally not the biggest fan of liquid eyeliners, but I absolutely love MAC’s liners and Pure Show really is a must have! It’s a gorgeous shimmery golden shade, and once it dries it literally won’t budge all day.

MAC-Brant-Brothers-Limited-Edition-Collection

Hi Guys!

Ok I know what you’re thinking… WHO?? Well I must admit I didn’t know either. The Brant brothers will be more familiar to US readers, but to us in the UK, they’re New York based socialites, or ‘IT’ boys. Peter and Harry Brant are fearless lovers of fashion as well as beauty, and make for a fitting yet interesting collaboration with MAC Cosmetics…

Peter and Harry Brant, the young bon vivants of New York society, are the current toast of the fashion scene. Now, M∙A∙C teams up with them in a modern collection of products for the face, brows, eyes and lips.

The Brant Brothers collection includes both makeup and skincare – such as the Mineralize Volcanic Ash Exfoliator, Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Gel and Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Eye Cream – all which are aimed at a unisex audience.

  • Paragon Pearl – a champagne gold.
  • El Dorado – a bold gold.

I’m a big fan of MAC’s eye pencils, and this Kohl i son exception. El Dorado is a lovely shimmery gold shade, that works well to add a pop of golden highlight to the eye.

Kiko Limited Edition Beauty Games Collection

Posted on July 26, 2016

kiko-beauty-games-collection

Hi Guys!

The latest limited edition collection of products from Kiko Milano is now available, and this season’s theme is the Olympic Games!

KIKO MILANO’s new The Beauty Games collection is inspired by the 2016 Olympic Games. A team of unbeatable products are hitting the playing fields. The global, borderless Olympic spirit is expressed through a cosmopolitan, modern femininity, which is both sporty and elegant.

The range contains complexion-evening face bases, as well as bronzers and blushers to give skin a healthy glow. The coloured mascara lengthens and curls the lashes boosting their volume, while lips are highlighted by a bright, matte finish, and nails are decorated with original, fun nail art designs. Also, the limited-edition collection includes a professional-style brush duo and a face and eye make-up palette which can be used time and time again to create thousands of different looks.

kiko-ake-It-All-Beauty-Kit

Starting with the Take It All Beauty Kit (£19.90) – this handy little palette contains three eyeshadows for both wet and dry use, as well as a bronzer, blush, a pencil for the waterline and lash line, an eyeshadow applicator and a small face brush – all presented in a sweet little zip around case.

The eyeshadows come in three lovely light to mid neutral shades, which include a light peachy pink shimmer, a light nude grey toned beige matte, and a mid plum toned brown matte. The bronzer and blush are also mid-toned easy to wear shades – with a lighter touch these work well on my pale complexion, but would also look really pretty on fair to mid skin tones too. The dinky little waterline and lash line pencil is a really nice addition, along with the mini brushes. The palette has a handy internal mirror and is contained in a lovely imitation saffiano leather case, which can be re-used once you’ve used up the makeup.

kiko-beauty-games-mascara-nail-polish

Next the Colour Shadows Nail Lacquer Set (£14.90) – this set contains a silver base coat, and three mini top coat nail colours that give varying degrees of coverage – these are also designed to blend together before the manicure has completely dried. I love the yellow shade in this set, it’s really bright and just perfect for summer!

And lastly the Beauty Energy Mascara (£7.90) – this mascara promises to curl, colour and lengthen lashes with a single coat, leaving them looking both full and thick. I have shade 02 Vivid Violet which is a gorgeous electric violet purple shade. It has a really nice silicone brush – the asymmetric bristles deposit the right quantity of product at the eyelashes’ roots and then separates and defines them from the roots to the tips.

I have to say I also really love the look of the eyeliner pencils and the 3D Light & Glow Highlighters in this collection (take a look via the link below) I’d love to hear if you have any Kiko products?

The Limited Edition Beauty Games Collection is available now at Kiko.

MAC Good Luck Trolls Limited Edition Collection

Posted on July 25, 2016

mac-good-luck-trolls-collection

Hi Guys, happy Monday!

MAC’s latest limited edition collection is colourful, fun, and completely crazy – introducing MAC X Good Luck Trolls…

Hair we go! The wild-haired dolls of your youth bring their rainbow tufts, bejeweled bellies and lucky charms to M·A·C Good Luck Trolls — a crazy-hued collection as silly as the creatures themselves. From Lipglass in Bubble Butt to Eye Shadow in Suns Out, Buns Out and Beauty Powder in Glow Rida…being a troll has never been so glamorous!

This is quite a large limited edition collection, to collaborate with the movie which is being released later this year. The range contains Lipsticks, Lip Glasses, Glitters, Pigments and Brushes to name but a few products. Let’s take a look at a few items in the collection –

mac-good-luck-trolls-lipstick

Starting with the Lipsticks (£17.00) – there are four shades to choose from with differing finishes. I have Can’t Be Tamed and Midnight Troll above.

  • Can’t Be Tamed – sheer lime yellow (cremesheen)
  • Sushi Kiss – mid-tone coral cream (satin)
  • Dance Off, Pants Off – frosted hot pink (frost)
  • Midnight Troll – rich blue (matte)

mac-good-luck-trolls-lipstick-swatches

Ok so I can officially say I’ve never seen any lipsticks even remotely like these before. Firstly, the packaging is neon orange, which I absolutely love, and these shades are just insane! Can’t Be Tamed is a sheer lime toned yellow, and Midnight Troll is a gorgeous intense deep blue – I actually love this!

mac-good-luck-trolls-pigment-and-eyeshadow

Next the Eye Shadows and Pigments. The Eye Shadows (£14.00) are available in five shades again with differing finishes –

  • Paradisco – bright pinky-coral with pearl (frost)
  • Black Tied – black with silver sparkle (velvet)
  • Silly Vanilly – white with very fine silver glitter (satin)
  • Suns Out, Buns Out – mustard yellow with pearl (veluxe pearl)
  • Atlantic Blue – cobalt blue (matte)

And there’s only one Pigment (£17.50) in this collection –

  • Chartreuse – frosted chartreuse green

mac-good-luck-trolls-pigment-and-eyeshadow-swatches

I have the Eyeshadow in Silly Vanilly – it’s described as a satin white with a fine silver glitter. It’s actually a really nice true white shade, but I didn’t feel there was much glitter in it though.

But the Pigment in Chartreuse – now this really is gorgeous! Fans of MAC Pigments will know the fantastic colour payoff they give, the pigment formula is also super soft and blendable, making it a joy to apply.

mac-good-luck-trolls-glow-rida-beauty-powder

Next we have the Beauty Powder (£24.00) this is available in two shades –

  • Glow Rida – soft beige sheen with extra fine gold reflects
  • Play it Proper – pastel soft pink with sparkles

mac-good-luck-trolls-glow-rida-beauty-powder-swatch

Glow Rida is a gorgeous champagne beige with a golden shimmer. This would work wonderfully well as a highlighter on both the face and body.

I’ll also just touch on the rest of the products in the collection so you know what else to expect –

Lipglass (£16.50)

  • Bubble Butt – magenta with fine pink and blue glitter
  • Twerquoise – transparent sky blue with fine pink reflect SAINT GERMAIN light, cool pink
  • Glitter Grunge – sheer berry with extra fine silver sparkle

MAC Future Forward: Tinashe Eyes X 9 Palette

MAC-Future-Forward---Tinashe-Eyes-X-9-Palette

Hi Guys!

Following on from the Dej Loaf Lipglass, next on the blog from the MAC Future Forward collaboration range is the MAC X Tinashe Eyes X 9 Palette…

Tinashe’s exclusive Eye Shadow x 9 palette of steely neutrals and simmering night shades offers you countless, well-edited colour combinations with textures from matte to satin to frost. The saturated shades are packaged in a pocket-sized compact for portability. Online Exclusive.

MAC-Tinashe-Eyes-X-9-Palette

This is quite a dinky little palette, easily fitting in the palm of your hand – and therefore perfect for throwing in your makeup bag or handbag. Though I do love a palette with larger pans, there’s a lot to be said for a smaller palette that’s easy to travel with! The Tinashe Eyes X 9 Palette is described as a well-edited palette of steely neutrals and simmering night shades, and this palette contains nine eyeshadows ranging from a light green shimmer to a deep purple. Eight of the shades have a shimmer or satin finish, with one, Quarry – the middle taupe shade, being matte.

  • Gleam: Barely pinked gold (Lustre)
  • Midnight Sun: Shimmering mocha (Frost)
  • Revelry: Mauvey purple grey (Satin)
  • Vulnerable: Soft pearly purple (Lustre)
  • Quarry: Soft muted plumbrown (Matte)
  • Cork: Amethyst: Deep purple with pink pearl (Satin)
  • Flame: Mint silver shimmer (VLXP)
  • All Hands on Deck: Light green shimmer (VLXP)
  • Black Water: Black with gold pearl (Veluxe)

My favourite shade out of this palette has to be Midnight Sun, it’s a beautiful warm medium brown with a lovely satin sheen finish – this is a fantastic shade to wear in the crease for a lighter daytime look.

MAC Future Forward: Dej Loaf Lipglass

Posted on June 3, 2016

MAC-Future-Forward-Dej-Loaf-Lipglass

Hi Guys!

Happy Friday! I have the first of four exclusive MAC Future Forward collaborations to share with you today. Let’s take a look at the Dej Loaf Lipglass…

M·A·C teams up with the next generation of women shaping music’s future in a series of exclusive collaborations. Each female visionary taps into her creativity with a limited-edition colour statement. Dej Loaf is flipping the rap game on its head with her inventive turns of phrase and killer beats, boasting a singular visual to match. A confident master of balancing restraint and drama, her style savvy is pitch-perfect with a caramel-tinged Lipglass you can mix and mouth off any way you choose. Exclusively Online.

mac-dej-loaf-lipglass-review

MAC’s Dej-Loaf Lipglass is described as a soft mid toned nude, it’s a caramel toned gloss that can be used to create both a high shine glass-like finish or a subtle sheen. The colour is deeper than I expected, more of a mid warm caramel brown, with a subtle golden orange micro sparkle.

mac-dej-loaf-limited-edition-lipglass

On application, this gloss was also more translucent than I expected, which in my opinion is a good thing as this definitely makes it more of a wearable shade. It’s actually a really nice semi-sheer caramel which will suit most skin tones, and the micro sparkles catch the light beautifully. The formula is pretty standard for a MAC Lipglass, being slightly tacky yet comfortable on the lips.

mac-dej-loaf-lipglass-swatch

MAC’s Dej-Loaf Lipgloss is £14.50 and available exclusively online at MAC now. I’ll also have the other three Future Forward collaboration products coming up on the blog very shortly!

MAC X Brooke Candy Limited Edition Collection

Posted on May 16, 2016

mac-brooke-candy-collection

Hi Guys!

I have a few products from the rather fabulous and daring MAC X Brooke Candy collection to share with you today – now I’m going to admit, I wasn’t aware of Brooke Candy before I heard about this collection. It turns out she’s a rapper, musician, performer and just an all round internet sensation…

Fiercely independent digital sensation Brooke Candy returns to M·A·C with her feisty colour collection uniting the past, present and future of her creative spirit. Shades for eyes, lips and nails dare you to stand up and stand out. Bold, brave, unusual, unstoppable!

The MAC X Brooke Candy is a sizeable collection containing Lipsticks, Studio Eye Glosses, a Haute & Naughty Lash Mascara, Vamplify Lip Glosses, Lip Pencils, a Bronzing Powder, and Nail Lacquers.

mac-brooke-candy-collection-review

The packaging has a high shine chrome finish, with a black and grey paint spatter print, as well as the MAC X Brooke Candy logo. The whole feel of the collection is edgy – with the visuals featuring a ghostly white Brooke Candy with black tears dripping down her face, and the most dead-on stare possible. I’m pretty sure she’s staring into your soul… 😀

Ok so let’s start with the Lipsticks (£17.00), there are four boldly confident shades in this collection, including two which already offered my MAC –

  • Whirl – dirty rose (from main line)
  • Doowop – pink pop.
  • Mind Control – bright cherry red (from main line)
  • Witching Hour – rich purple.

mac-brooke-candy-lipstick-Doowop

I have Doowop, this is a beautiful bright and intense blue-pink, verging on fuchsia. It has a mate finish and it really is brighter than bright! The finish on the lips is super opaque, as well as long lasting, and this shade really reminds me of Kelly Yum Yum from the Osbournes collection a couple of years back.

mac-brooke-candy-Vamplify-Lip-Glass-Pamela

Next is the Vamplify Lip Glass (£20.00), described as a lip gloss infused with colour-boosting technology loaded with pigments, this comes in two shades – Pamela, above, described as a dirty rose colour, and Till Death Do Us Part, an intense dark purple. Pamela looks very similar to the lipstick in Whirl in terms of colour, and also very similar in shade to Kat Von D’s famous Liquid Lipstick in Lolita.

I love both the look and feel of Pamela, the gloss gives fantastic colour payoff and a high shine, and it also has MAC’s signature vanilla scent. The formula is smooth and creamy, and it feels moisturising and comfortable on the lips. The colour itself is also the perfect 90’s muted rose-brown shade, I love it!

mac-brooke-candy-studio-eye-gloss

There are also two Studio Eye Glosses (£17.50) included in this collection – White-Yin, a shimmer white with multicoloured pearl, and Black-Yang, a black with red and blue pearl. This is my first experience of MAC’s Studio Eye Glosses, so I was interested to see what I’d make of them…

White-Yin is a clear based gloss with multicoloured micro-sparkles. Though the sparkle is multi coloured, it definitely leans heavily toward pink / orange. The formula is like a thick sticky balm, and I wasn’t sure if it would dry or not – and it turns out it definitely stays sticky to touch after application. I think this is a bit of a Marmite product – you’ll either love it, or really dislike it.

And lastly, I have the Bronzing Powder in Golden (£24.00) this is a gorgeous mid golden tan shade, with a slight hint of shimmer. It gives a beautiful natural looking glow to the complexion, and works well on fair skin tones when applied with a light touch, or just as well built up on mid skin tones too.

Overall, this is definitely an interesting and daring collection. I love the theme, and the packaging is pretty awesome too! The Vamplify Lip Glass in Pamela and Bronzing Powder in Golden have to be my favourite products though!

MAC Cosmetics X Chris Chang Collection

Hi Guys!

If you’re a MAC Cosmetics fan, it’s most likely you’ll have heard about the highly anticipated MAC X Chris Chang collection by now… if you’re not aware of Chris Chang, she’s a Chinese fashion designer obsessed with colour – she pretty much lives and breathes the stuff, and because of this she really is the perfect match for a MAC collaboration.

China’s most outlandish fashion designer puts an acid-soaked twist on her modern M·A·C collection, featuring a vivid kaleidoscope of cutting-edge colour, inspired by the ancient Chinese art form Kunqu. Surreal hues of Lipstick, Cream Colour Base and Eye Shadow, and uniquely designed packaging, are saturated with her signature dramatic flair.

Her limited edition collection for MAC contains a decent sized range of products, including Lipsticks (with lustre and matte finishes), Eyeshadows, a Fluid Line Eyeliner, Cream Colour Bases, and a Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Pressed Powder.

Poesia, the Chinese fashion designer’s outrageously-hued clothing line, embraces maximalism to the extreme and a kaleidoscopic point-of-view that’s splashed across her garments in ways that are artful, chaotic, frenzied, stunningly beautiful and never without humour. Her penchant for colour borders on the obsessive, although never seeming tacky or ridiculous. Similarly, her M·A·C collection leaves no hue left behind, a brilliant palette inspired by China’s oldest performance art form, Kunqu…on an acid trip.

So firstly, can we just take a moment to appreciate the packaging? …No your eyes aren’t going funny, and no my camera isn’t blurry… the packaging for this collection is just plain crazy! There’s a collage mishmash of bright and outlandish shapes and patterns covering this collection; flowers, figures, wildlife and who knows what else features on the outer casings of the products. Parts are in focus, yet many have blurry edges, making you look twice to check if your eyes are playing tricks on you. Described as hallucinogenic, crazy and trippy, this is possibly the maddest packaging I’ve seen yet in a MAC collection – and I love it!

Ok so on to the products! Lets start with the rather striking single Eyeshadows (£14.00), there are four brighter than bright matte shades in the collection – Royal Woo – a lemony pastel yellow, Pale Pipa – a pastel turquoise, Electric Mandarin – a neon mandarin orange, and Mu Mu Bloom – a hot pink.

I have Pale Pipa and Electric Mandarin, and as expected both shades are intensely pigmented, super soft and easy to blend. Pale Pipa has more of a powdery matte finish and Electric Mandarin is slightly more satin, both give excellent colour payoff, and though I’m not personally keen on Pale Pipa as a shade, I think I’ll get a lot of use out of Electric Mandarin over the Summer months.

Next we have a large selection of Lipsticks, and Cream Colour Bases. The Lipsticks (£17.00) also come in a range of bright not-to-be-missed pastel shades –

  • Gold XIX  – lemony pastel yellow with a lustre finish
  • Cloud Gait – pastel turquoise with a lustre finish.
  • Plum Princess – pastel plummy lavender with a matte finish.
  • Dddevilish – pastel hotel pink with a matte finish.
  • Vermillion Vee – clean true red with a matte finish.

And the Cream Colour Bases (£17.50) come in three intense shades –

  • Peony Pavilion – hot pink.
  • Rick Coral – orange.
  • Sockit Xiqu – dirty lavender.

I have the lipstick in Dddevilish, an intense and bright blue toned pink with a matte finish. I know this shade won’t be to everyone’s taste, but I absolutely love it! The colour is true and intense, and I love it especially because MAC lipsticks have one of the best matte formulas around, which won’t dry out your lips. I also have the Cream Colour Base in Peony Pavilion, which is again an intense hot pink – very similar in shade to Dddevillish. This is super creamy and easy to blend out and work with. You can wear this applied very lightly for a sheer touch of colour, or build up the product for a more intense look.

And lastly the Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder Compact (£22.50) – this is described as a silky, colourless finishing powder that reduces shine – and that description really is spot on. Though whiter than white, this powder is colourless when applied – hence no swatches, as you can’t really see it on the skin. It gives a velvety soft finish, while helping to set your makeup. This is the perfect setting powder for controlling shine, and giving skin a super smooth and even finish.

As I mentioned earlier in the post, these products, and the collection as a whole won’t be to everyones taste – but there are still a few products and shades in there that would suit those that are a bit fearful of outlandish colours. The Lipstick in Vermillion Vee looks like the most perfect true red shade – of which I believe everybody should own, and the Translucent Powder is just gorgeous, a definite must have for your summer makeup bag! I love how this collection knows no bounds or limits, the colours Chang has chosen dare you to experiment and have fun – which really is is what makeup is all about.

The limited edition MAC X Chris Chang Collection will launch in the UK on June 16th, at MAC’s Carnaby and Covent Garden Stores and online at MAC.
